Grace Neighborhood Development Corporation (GNDC) was conceived over 20 years ago as an outreach program of Grace-Trinity Church in response to the vast community needs present in Frankford, Philadelphia and the surrounding neighborhoods.
In response to the growing violence, poverty, drug activity, and overall disenfranchisement in the area, GNDC focused on the lack of access to key resources critical to all healthy and sustainable communities... partnerships, nutrition, and education.
With this in mind GNDC set out to create opportunities for 1) Early childhood education (hoping to cultivate early a love of learning knowing education the best way out of generational cycles of poverty) ; 2) Feeding the hungry (meals available every Sunday, provided every Thanksgiving Day, weekly food pantry donations) and the next generation one nutritious meal at a time; 3) Promoting higher/continued education and community partnerships to cultivate, retain and strengthen local talent and investments.
Over these years, we have seen the fruits of our efforts in the transformation of lives and neighborhoods. Thus, we continue to faithfully work in our community knowing that we are best when we are in service to our neighbors.
